Mechanical Site Supervisor

My client who are based in Rosebury are leaders in marine and offshore life-saving equipment and fire-fighting systems. They provide testing and certification of mechanical, fire, hyperbaric and pressure equipment to the Defence, Maritime and Industrial sectors. They looking to appoint a suitably qualified / experienced Mechanical Site Supervisor with a fitting / engineering background.
 
The Role:
This role will see you perform a mix of both administration and coordination duties along with with hands-on mechanical components when required.  You will be a natural leader and confident in performing the following:
  • Oversee and mentor the technicians
  • Coordinate production / workshop requirements
  • Client liaison and supplier management
  • Materials and equipment handling
  • Conduct repairs and maintenance on vessels and equipment when required
  • Generate reports outlining progress updates, completed projects and maintenance schedules
  • Stock control in and out of the workshop
  • Travel and accommodation coordination for staff and contractors when required
  • Scheduling works and administration tasks
  • Organise events within budgets and timeframes
About you…
To be successful in this position you will ideally come from a Navy / Defence background and be trade qualified Mechanical Fitter / Engineer.  You will be well versed in supervising other staff members and effectively communicate with others.  You will be the type of person that can look outside the box and make quick, educated decisions.  Some must haves are:
  • Be Australian Citizen (for security clearance purposes)
  • Intermediate computer skills and confident with MS Office
  • Be able to maintain strict confidential and ethical standards
  • Be physically fit and able to pass a vigorous pre-employment medical inc D/A
